by Louder Than War, Aberdeenshire based acoustic punk singer/songwriter Mark Ayling writes lyrics that are mainly personal, sometimes angry, occasionally political, and always honest, creating a sound that has the energy of punk whilst retaining the melodic elements of the acoustic guitar.
Mark's influences include The Jam, Motorhead, The Mob, New Model Army, The Clash, Killing Joke and Joy Division.
he has had the pleasure of playing alongside Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), Robb Johnson and Tracey Curtis at the 2011 Raise Your Banners Festival, and Ruts DC, 999, TV Smith, Goldblade, Rubella Ballet, brian curran, Proud City Fathers, The Mob, XSLF and many other fine musicians at various gigs throughout the UK and Europe over the past 10 years.
To coincide with his 10th anniversary as a gigging singer songwriter, Mark released his latest album on the 20th November, 2021. 'Black Dog' is his 4th studio album and is available on CD and as a digital download.
